Our Squads
Our swimmers train in one of the following squads, according to individual ability and fitness levels:
Learn to SwimThe Woden Swim Club recommends Young’s Swim School for quality swim instruction in a safe and fun environment. Young’s Swim School provides swim instruction and training for infants, through to preparation for our Mini Squad. Mini Squad This Squad is for the new club swimmer. These swimmers generally have come from swim school lessons. The main focus in this squad is technique and squad swimming skills. This squad runs for a one hour session every night of the week and you can come as many times as you like. Junior Squad The juniors concentrate on stroke correction and gaining strength and endurance. They train for longer periods than the Mini Squad. This squad runs for one and a half hours every night of the week and you can come as many times as you like. Intermediate Squad This squad is for the competitive swimmer 12 years and under. Training varies between distance and sprint work to prepare swimmers for Country and State competitions and the move up to the Senior Squad Senior Competive This squad is for the competitive swimmer 13 years and older. Training varies between distance and sprint work for Country, State and National competitions. This Squad has special requirements, you will be expected to compete at most meets and do a certain amount of sessions a week. Fitness For those swimmers wanting to train for general health and fitness.
